There’s no doubt about it – girls love to go out. And while there’s nothing like seeing a pack of animals in the wild, there’s nothing like laying your eyes on a pack of girls out in Hollywood!
It had been quite the quiet Thursday when my crew – all entrepreneurs, all independent, and all beautiful – decided to get together. What started with 3 ladies soon turned into a full-fledged girls night. Thank goodness the folks at sbe’s Cleo know how to treat a lady, not to mention, 8 of them 😉 As our party of 6 added on 2 more last minute arrivals, the courteous staff found us a table that would comfortably accommodate us all. And then the REAL party began.
We started with a round of Cleo’s always-delicious cocktails, in particular, the JANAPOLITAN, which is crafted from Belvedere Vodka, Crushed Strawberry and Basil Leaves, fresh Lime (I, of course, subbed my vodka for tequila!). From there the “Mezzes” arrived, which included some of the delicious house dips and fresh bread. Even if you’re carb-free or on some diet, if you don’t try the bread at Cleo, you’re just crazy.
After another round (cheers!) of delicious cocktails and even more delicious conversation… our main courses, served tapas style, arrived at our long, candle-lit table.
Although we opted not to try dessert that night (did someone say too many carbs?!), the must-tries in my book are the Flatbread, the Brussles Sprouts, and the Cous Cous. All are great for sharing and the flavors are simply divine! Another dish not to be missed is the Beef Cheek – drool. Just a few bites send your craving-something-savory tastebuds absolutely soaring.
Given the fact that Cleopatra herself was such a strong woman, it was only suitable that all of us go-getter women of today chose the restaurant for our gathering. A toast to Cleo!
