Luxury Promise, a leading global platform for pre-loved luxury goods has today announced the appointment of Lloyd Amsdon, Co-Founder of Watchfinder and Lena Tan, formerly Chairperson of 7 Eleven Malaysia Sdn Bhd onto its Board of Directors.
The appointments mark a new chapter in Luxury Promise’s journey to dominate the global pre-loved luxury goods market. Founded in 2017 by Sabrina Sadiq and Adam Sadiq, Luxury Promise has pioneered livestream shopping to operate 40 live shows a week across 4 continents. Today, the Company has scaled its operations to have a global presence with hubs in the UK, US, Canada, UAE, Singapore, Japan and Australia and now boasts a team of more than 50 employees, 90% of whom are women.
Sabrina Sadiq, Co-Founder and CEO commenting on the appointments said, “We founded Luxury Promise with a simple aim – to make luxury convenient. Our growth in recent years has shown just how much demand is out there and we have only just scratched the surface. I am excited to see how Lloyd and Lena can help us grow and scale to many more markets, so we can continue building our amazing Luxury Promise community”.
This next phase will be supported by the addition of Lloyd Amsdon, Co-founder of Watchfinder and early backer of Luxury Promise, whose experience in building, scaling, and exiting one of the leading luxury resale platforms to global luxury group Richemont will be invaluable as the company further scales. Commenting on the appointment, Lloyd said: “I know first-hand the stage that Sabrina and the team at Luxury Promise are at. It’s an incredibly exciting one and I look forward to sharing all the insights and experiences that I picked up on my own journey”.
Lena Tan commenting on her appointment: “Asia continues to be a booming market and we are seeing strong growth in the luxury segment. Luxury Promise’s unique blend of technology, sustainability and luxury is the perfect combination for success in the region and I look forward to being part of the journey”. With the company predicting strong growth in Asia – with increasing trading and inventory volumes – Ms Tan’s substantial experience working with some of the leading Asian families, as an investor, and as a business leader will be invaluable. Lena is currently serving as board member of New World Group, a diversified investment company with $3 Billion of AUM across financial services, technology, and asset management. Lena was formerly at Berjaya Corporation and Chairman of 7 Eleven Malaysia Sdn Bhd where among many achievements, she led the sale of payments company MOL to gaming hardware giant Razer.
“The addition of Lloyd and Lena heralds another landmark moment in the Luxury Promise story – where two stalwarts in business with highly relevant experience will share with us how best to navigate this next growth phase. I look forward to working very closely with them”, said Co-Founder and fellow Board Member Adam Sadiq.
