LA Fashion Week is officially here, and one of our favorite productions each season is CONCEPT Fashion Week. We’ve been attending since the shows were originally held at ACE Gallery, and we loved the venue this season – the hidden in a neighborhood of West Hollywood Quixote Studios.
The shows this Saturday, October 12th, opened with “Infinite” by Mike Vensel and were flanked by installations from KITTINHAWK, Jen Awad (always love her!) and more shows including “Magna” by Camila X Castillo and a debut collection by Emily Daccarett. You can check out the rest of the schedule here!
We were delighted by Emily Dacarett’s playful fashion film that opened the show, as you know we love fashion films here at TGIFguide! Daccarett’s collection combined the chicness of a Parisian and the free spirit of a Los Angeles girl, while clean lines and feminine silhouettes combine with transparent textures and bold floral prints to manifest in an understatedly sexy, airy and playful garments.
Who doesn’t love Mike Vensel’s elegant statement gowns, breezy layerables and minimalist basics made from luxurious and eco-friendly materials? His collection showcased his signature Grecian draping, expert construction, and stunning pops of color and unique print variation. Always one of our favorites.
We also loved Jen Awad’s classic glamour and edgy elegance that had a playful nod to 1960’s. Her use of color and texture is purely unique and she never fails to impress.
Here are some of our favorite street style shots!
