If home is where the heart is, then I’m moving in to Saket Bed and Breakfast! Situated in one of New Delhi’s best neighborhoods, the hotel is the perfect mix of tres chic and unpretentious. From my first inquiry to the checkout, the service, cleanliness and over-all experience was one that I will always remember.

Given this is India, I was expecting to be hassled on the price a bit and given the “tourist rate.” I was assured by the kind folks at Saket that if I found a lower price in the area, they would match it. Wow!

Also, I was planning to attend Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week and had only heard about it the day before, so didn’t have passes yet.  Anand, the owner, said some fellow guests at the hotel would be participating in the event as well and he would do everything he could to help secure me with passes, and even offered his own personal pass one of the days. Talk about an amazing way to welcome your guests! 🙂  After that, it obviously didn’t take much for me to book the room.

Upon arrival I was kindly greeted and taken to my room where I immediately felt at home. If you’ve ever traveled in India, you learn to appreciate a good bathroom, and not only did Saket have beautiful big bathrooms complete with lush towels and complimentary products, the room itself was bright and airy and had plenty of  space in the big armoire, a little desk and even a balcony.

Aside from the unparalleled room and service, the best part was the breakfast. Saket Bed and Breakfast is full of travelers from near and far, and in the morning we all gathered around a family-style table to a continental breakfast of cereal, toast, eggs, fresh fruit and juices. Learning about the other people and their journeys was a great way to start the day. Anand recommended some places for me to go exploring and also how to get there, and my journey in New Delhi began 🙂
