I am a self confessed fan of all things covered in glitter and don’t have a favorite sports team simply because there isn’t one with pink uniforms, and quite frankly seeing a movie about race cars seemed like the last thing I wanted to do. Rush is way more than a movie about race cars though – and here are 3 reasons why it’s a must see! As if Chris Hemsworth shirtless isn’t enough…
1) Chris Hemsworth – He brilliantly plays the live-in-the-moment party animal James Hunt who forms an early rivalry with Austrian racer Niki Lauda, both eventually wins the world championship, but not without sacrifice.
2) It’s a great history lesson – From the culture of the 70’s to the history of the Formula One race and all of the cars involved, watching RUSH is a great way to learn about what exactly it is that makes a Ferrari a Ferrari, what makes a McLaren a McLaren, and the politics behind the men who are chosen to drive them.

3) The fashion – yep, we’re actually recommending you watch a race car movie for the fashion. In the film, James Hunt marries supermodel Suzy Miller who eventually leaves him for Richard Burton. Yes Elizabeth Taylor’s Richard Burton – and whether she’s decked out in jewels or peeking out from under a fedora, Olivia Wilde looks smashing from head to toe in every scene. The extras had cute outfits too! There’s just something magical about period fashion done right.
