Hey LA – are you ready to party?

Although it feels like summer just arrived, technically it ended over the long Labor Day weekend – so what better reason than to celebrate with music, fashion, art and everything else that makes LA great?

District La Brea, a retail, fashion and arts district in the heart of Los Angeles, will host a summer-ending music festival on Sunday, September 15th, 2013 from 1pm – 6pm.

The District La Brea Summer Garage Jam will feature 6 local bands performing on the upper deck of District La Brea’s parking garage. Atop the parking garage (of which three sides is adorned with a signature Shepard Fairey mural) is over 16,000SF of space that will comfortably host a crowd of concertgoers as well as the bands they have come to enjoy. Over 300 young music and fashion design lovers, entertainment professionals, LA tastemakers, celebrities, industry VIPs, and specially invited press and bloggers will be in attendance.

The music stage is presented by La Brea and Free Bike Valet: A Beach City Music Blog, and will include local acts such as Freedom Fry, Warships, Kid Cadaver, Oona, GUIDES and The Low. The event is being supported by significant sponsors which include Pop Water, Stack Wine, KRAVE, Junior Johnson’s Midnight Moon, Angel City Brewery, Aqua Hydrate and more!

A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Off The Wall Graffiti, a non-profit, community event, mentoring and scholarship foundation designed for students who show a talent in graffiti and a willingness to learn about art. Off The Wall Graffiti will also curate an interactive live art exhibit during the event.

Free general admission available via registration on the EventBrite website.

VIP tickets are available for $15 and include access to reserved seating area, drink tickets, bar and a District La Brea VIP Card offering exclusive discounts to retailers and restaurants on the block, including A+R, Judith Bright, Kelly Cole, Shelter Half, The Sycamore Kitchen, Landon Cole, Steven Allen and more.

About La Brea
“La Brea”, owned and managed by Madison Marquette, is an adaptive re-use development project on La Brea Avenue between 1st and 2nd Street in Los Angeles, CA. The Project features eleven buildings being transformed to host a complementary mix of retail, dining and creative offices. Formerly the site of an Edsel Automobile dealership in the 1950’s, the building was later headquarters to one of LA’s premier printing shops, Continental Graphics Corporation. Each building’s unique characteristics, including wood truss ceilings, exposed brick and steel beams, are being highlighted. Madison Marquette is inviting an eclectic mix of emerging regional and local retail and dining brands to put down roots, carefully curating the La Brea experience to build on the area’s history of trendsetting. Today the neighborhood hosts a diverse mix of showrooms, galleries and retailers with longtime devotees on La Brea Avenue including American Rag, Undefeated, and Stussy.
