Jewelry Designer Seville Michelle will feature her new collection “Choke me” at Shop Small at MADE LA – June 9th and 10th 2017 in Los Angeles, California.

Already worn by celebrities such as Teyana Taylor, Bebe Rexha, and Sofia Richie, the collection “Choke Me”  features powerful designs with significant meaning.  Choke Me is filled with fantasy, where the gold chains and pendants of saints and icons, much like the jewelry of her youth, take on new roles. Choke Me explores the often suffocating challenge of being a modern woman.

It’s the year of feminism, power, humanity, and making voices heard and we are excited to launch a unique collection by celebrated and edgy jewelry designer Seville Michelle that encompasses the power of 2017’s energy and more.

Using religious icons and symbols the choker collection of 5 styles are made of polished brass and plated in 14kt gold (available in real gold). Each piece is soldered and hinged together in repeated patterns. Divine Feminine power is summoned in The Feast, where the typically patriarchal representation of Jesus Christ receives a feminine cleansing that radiates femininity and exudes power.

About Seville Michelle  Born and raised in New York City (by a Cuban mother and a Greek father), Seville Michelle is a self-taught jewelry designer who brings her unique background to life in her work by re-imagining the accessories of her youth. Growing up immersed in the fashion and jewelry trends of the 1990’s. As a designer, she merges street style with luxury in a very New York City way, always referencing her city life roots, and identity.

In line with Seville’s talent for reinventing 90’s trends, her new collection “Choke Me” features religious icons reminiscent of medallions hanging off of big gold chains. Social media influencers and music muses such as Teyana Taylor, Bebe Rexha, and Sofia Richie are among the recent stream of people wearing styles from Seville’s “Choke Me’ collection. This adds to the growing list of celebrities who all have worn Seville’s jewelry such as Beyoncé, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Jennifer Lopez, Mike Tyson, Rihanna, Prince, Ciara and Nicki Minaj.

Seville entered the design world in 2009 with a full line of epaulets (shoulder jewelry), a concept never before seen, Glamour.com sites her as being the inventor of the edgy concept. At the same time, costume designer for Sex and the City Patricia Field picked up the line and the store became a flagship for Seville’s eponymous line of accessories; a personal accomplishment for her since she spent years as a patron. The fantasy of wrapping Italian leather around the iconic “doorknocker” earring in Italian leather was like adding diamonds to a casio. Her earrings quickly grew a celebrity following among some of the biggest names in music, media, and retail attention followed.
