Imagine your dinner table…

Who’s sitting there?

What’s being served?

What are you talking about while the food is passed around?

What are you drinking to wash it all down with?

Whether it’s wine or water, we’re sure each answer is different, and that’s called diversity, which is a very good thing. Diversity lets you know just how blessed your circumstances are because of the people that surround you; the people at your dinner table; your family and your friends.  Everyone knows the old saying, “you can choose your friends, but not your family,” and if I could choose a friend to have at my dinner table, it would be Nancy Gale.

Nancy’s a society girl with a down to earth attitude – which is embodied in her understated yet luxurious handbag designs, and not to mention, her studio by the beach. She’s the business and the creative mind of JAMAH, a luxury line of handbags created from Italian leather right here in the USA.  A true entrepreneur, she followed her passion, practiced it, and built the brand JAMAH is today with her own two hands.

“JAMAH pieces are season-less and timeless,” Nancy says as she sits back on her oversized sofa in black yoga pants during her informal interview with TGIFguide. We were excited to take a tour of her studio and see some of her new pieces. Here are some of our favorite looks from the JAMAH collection :

While you might mistake her for a native Californian, Nancy Gale grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. In her youth she saw firsthand the benefits of manufacturing in the USA – and what led up to the bad economy and government bailouts.

Nancy believes that the spirit of the American Dream is vital to self-respect, and that when we respect ourselves only then will we respect our own backyards and communities. Confident that hands-on participation and the journey of the entrepreneurial process directly impacts self-esteem and pride, Nancy spearheaded In True Fashion to shape a generation of youth, that might not have grown up having elegant conversation at the world’s best dinner table.

In True Fashion is a comprehensive youth entrepreneurial platform that is being accepted by some California schools quicker than a free lunch. “Schools today are being forced to cut everything,” Nancy says, “and a program like this, that costs the schools nothing, is exactly what’s needed.”  Nancy has partnered with the likes of Richard Branson and more to help spread the message of entrepreneurship and empowerment, and Branson himself has been a keynote speaker for her program.

An advocate of entrepreneurship, Nancy believes small business is vital to our economy, and strives to inspire business owners to keep pursuing the road to prosperity and to keep the dream alive.

Nancy’s speaking engagements at universities and organizations allow her to impart her experience to inspire and motivate the entrepreneurs of today and tomorrow, and we can’t wait to see what’s in store for both JAMAH and In True Fashion next!
