Ogawa Coffee is now international and conveniently located in downtown crossing in Boston,MA! Ogawa Coffee, headquartered in Kyoto, Japan is known for its relaxing environment, skillful baristas, and my personal favorite feature, latte art!

You can immediately tell while walking through the door that this is not your average coffee shop. The stadium-style seating and bar overlooking the baristas promotes a very social experience. Although there is always the option to grab your coffee and go, Ogawa is an ideal place to have a seat, relax and enjoy.

In addition to Ogawa’s welcoming, warm environment, the café features an impressive team of talented baristas. The baristas have been trained by Haruna Murayama, 2010 World Latte Art Champion. I was amazed at how meticulous the staff was when crafting these drinks. From measuring the density of the coffee beans, to creating the perfect latte art designs. It made my experience very special….and fun!

The first drink I tried was a Raspberry Mochaccino. It is a raspberry and chocolate infused cappuccino served with crystalized fruits from Praline Confections (located in Belmont,MA) I loved the idea of pairing this drink with the fruits. It was such a unique and delicious touch. The latte art also made for a creative presentation. It was almost too beautiful to drink! This was my favorite drink because it was flavorful but not too sweet. It was prepared to perfection so I did not have to add anything to it.

The next drink I tried was the Kalita Pour Over. This method of brewing is very popular in Japan and allows for a more even extraction. I prefer my coffee to be a bit stronger so I could definitely appreciate this technique. The taste was very smooth and the presentation was also lovely. The Coffee is served in beautifully hand-painted cups adorned with flowers.

Ogawa’s 60 years of tradition, attention to detail and dedication to creating that perfect cup of coffee is pretty impressive. The next time you are in downtown crossing, I highly suggest you check out Ogawa Coffee for an outstanding latte, espresso or cup of coffee.

I’d like to thank Ogawa Coffee for a wonderful morning and an awesome experience. Welcome to Boston!
