When you’re looking for a holiday that offers both beauty and serenity, you can’t go far wrong with Bali. This incredible little island is unlike the others of Indonesia. Its Hindu roots offer architecture that will leave you awestruck, like the Water Temple. You can visit Bali for a wonderful holiday all year round, but just note that the rainy season can be very wet!

People generally come to Bali for the beaches, but Bali has so much more to offer. If you are visiting Indonesia for your holiday, you could spend the entire time on Bali and never get bored. On one side of the island there are volcanic mountains that are home to some of the best forest landscapes you can find. On the other side, the Uluwatu Temple is the iconic cliffside temple of the island and can be accessed from a boat. And there are plenty of sights in between!

Yoga is a popular activity on this island. Bali is well known as a Yoga retreat. You can find Yoga classes all over the island. A 2 bedroom villa in Seminyak can put you in the heart of everything the resort offers. Lay on the beach, or meditate by the pool. You can even enjoy a spot of shopping here. For the more adventurous, you can enjoy the surf and some of the trendiest nightclubs in Indonesia.

Exotic wildlife can be found all over the islands of Indonesia. The Ubud Monkey Forest Sanctuary is one of the most popular places to see monkeys in the world. It’s a great day out for families too. There is also a much-revered community art centre to enjoy. The monkey is an important animal to the Balinese and so features in many works of art you can buy here. It is certainly worth traveling to.

The Arts is important throughout Indonesia. The music of the Gamelan can be heard in many places, including Bali. Dance and music, in particular, are a very large part of the culture of the Balinese. Indonesian film festivals are also held on this island and are a great event to visit. You can find many art museums in Bali, and any one of them is worth a visit during your holiday.

Tanah Lot is a large rock formation. It attracts a lot of tourist interest because of its extraordinary shape. It is also a centre for pilgrimage as people flock to the Pura Tanah Lot temple throughout the year. For a dramatic reenactment of the Ramayana, you should visit the Kecak performance at Pura Luhur Uluwatu in the evenings. You’ll not be disappointed with this fire dance!

Bali is both a spectacle and a retreat. You can relax here and become exhilarated by what is on offer. There is never a dull moment, and the mix of serenity and drama is the perfect recipe for a good holiday. The cuisine is just as mixed up. The rice from the paddies is the staple that is added to dishes with exotic spices from Chinese and Indian influences.

There aren’t many holiday destinations that can compete with Bali. For a little island, it certainly packs a punch! Enjoy your holiday in Bali this season.
