For anyone dreaming to escape the daily grind of the real world, you’re in for a tequila-infused treat! New Studio City restaurant,Cocina Condesa, feels like an inviting getaway to an authentic and vivacious Mexican haven on Ventura Blvd.

The easy energy could be felt from the street Friday night as we arrived to a scene that was light-hearted and alive. Yet the friendly valet, open-air seating, lively music turned up, and lights turned down weren’t the only factors that exuded a casual sophistication about the place.

Executive Chef Eddie Gargia teamed up with mixology expert David Rubin to bring on the whole enchilada: A healthy, modern twist on authentic Mexican street food paired with complimenting, bold Latin cocktails.

He has studied under the widely influential Executive Chefs of Border Grill, served as Executive Chef of Sweeney’s Ale House, and The Woodman, and has partnerships in prominent restaurants and bars like Malo’s in Silverlake and City Tavern in Culver City.  In his newest endeavor at Cocina Condesa, Garcia creates an innovative menu that is undeniably one-of-a-kind and reflects his deep roots in authentic Mexican culture.

Drawing inspiration from his family’s passion for traditional Aztec dance intertwined with pieces of history passed down for generations, Chef Garcia delivers signature creations that each represent a unique story and embrace the most exotic family traditions.  The lunch, happy hour, and dinner menus offer an array of ‘antojitos’, or ‘little cravings’, where a mouthwatering ‘street corn’ served on the cobb and molette presented with perfection are featured, alongside a wide variety of delicious tacos, entrees, and starters.

But the expertise in Latin taste with a twist doesn’t stop there. A recent transplant from New York and partner of notable Speakeasy’s in NYC, including The Back Room and The Auction House, David Rubin has a gained a reputation for creating premiere cocktail programs at well-known establishments.

Rubin’s unique style plays with flavor, form, and perception, producing entertaining drinks that emphasize freshness, quality, and colorful presentation. As Executive Beverage Director, he brings Cocina Condesa a fun and eclectic drink list that combines contemporary East Coast influence with the Southwestern flare of Mexico.

We couldn’t get enough of the exquisite food and cocktails and the cheerful staff kept them coming all night! With its reasonably priced menu and laid-back yet lively energy, Cocina Condesa feels like a true escape.
