There’s nothing I love more than a good trade show. When LA Market Week rolls around not only am I excited to see what’s new in terms of apparel, shoes and accessories; the best part is getting to reconnect with familiar faces and meet some new ones!

The Los Angeles Market Week hosted at the California Market Center is an amazing opportunity to meet industry professionals including exhibitors, buyers, trend forecasters, bloggers and more.

When you walk into the grand entrance of the building it simply feels like fashion. From the high vaulted ceilings to the row of mannequins showcasing different looks from the various showrooms in The Mart, the very heartbeat of the place beats to music fit for the world’s best stores and runways.

There are 3 major shows at The CMC which all boast their own flavor and are full of great brands. Select is the first show the TGIFguide team visited. Known as the curated showcase of Better & Contemporary brands, the show is dedicated to spotlighting premium established and emerging brands built on an elevated level of quality and design.

We said hello to our friends at Ellie Vail Jewelry and G-Lish, and discovered some great new pieces from brands like Lines Of Denmark, Dream Clothing and Indie Republic.

Up in the Penthouse of The CMC lies two more shows, Transit and Shape. Transit is always one of my favorites, as I love seeing the new styles from brands like Chinese Laundry, Jeffrey Campbell, The Frye Company and Vince Camuto. These furry numbers by Y.R.U. knocked my socks off!

Across the way at the Shape show, we ran into some familiar faces at Cozy Orange and Wolven Threads. Having met them through other shows and over email and phone, putting a face to the name is always a great thing! Wolven Threads is known for their cute contemporary cuts and innovative print design, which we were happy to learn more about through meeting the creator, Kiran Jade.

Cozy Orange was excited to debut their new print stories for fall, and I have to say, I was loving their new fall colors! Something else great about Cozy Orange is that they produce the most durable fabrics that prolong product life, and the fabrics are created out of recycled plastic bottles!  Cozy Orange also created Revive Eco-Lux, which is the most advanced recycled polyester in the world. You can’t help but love a brand that not only feels good to wear, but does good to wear, right?!

Something else wonderful that caught my eye was Yoga For Men, or Bhujang style clothing, modeled after the Bhujang, or Cobra pose. Aside from the super cute boys they had modeling the new yoga wear in their posters, it struck me how unique the concept was. After all these years of doing yoga, I had never seen a line dedicated completely to men! Aside from the super soft fabric and innovative cuts, the boys behind the line, Jonathan Creamer and Andy Salamone, were pretty cool too! Having met at a yoga class in New Mexico, they decided to change the fact that men had nothing legit to wear to yoga class, and thus, a revolution was born! You can find out more about their line by clicking here!
