Vibrant, busy, lively Barcelona. Is there any better place on Earth to see such a cross section of the world? You can live nearly every experience in this city, most of them in the space of a weekend. Here’re my top tips for getting the most out of your stay in this sunny spot.

Visit the Beaches

What? Come all this way to a vibrant city and spend it lazing on the beach? It’s the only way to do it! Barcelona is famous for it’s beaches. With clean golden sands, bars pumping out music and people drinking cocktails on the beach, this isn’t just any lazy day experience. It’s a place charged with possibility.

Get Lost

El Born and El Gotico are the places to get lost in the majesty of the city. Old narrow lanes, impressive architecture and a sense of history you can almost feel, this is the true heart of Barcelona. From unique little cafes to quirky shops, you never quite know what you’re going to find next when wandering these streets.

Soak It Up

Barcelona is all about experiencing every aspect of life. The people here are passionate, full of emotion and not shy about expressing it. It charges their city with an atmosphere like no other and really makes you feel like anything is possible.

Indulge that feeling, at least for a night or two, in one of the city’s best hotels. Whether you are looking for the drama of historical architecture or the sleek lines of contemporary style, you will not struggle to find it. Check out the hotels this fabulous city has to offer at Venere.com.

Raise the Roof

Or raise up to the roof. Barcelona is full fabulous spots to relax, dance, socialise and watch the city live beneath you. The best place to stop and experience an authentic evening, it’s worth tracking down a rooftop terrace (or three) during your stay. The city’s most exclusive hotels are a good place to begin your search.

Eat Like A Local

Spanish and Catalonian food is up there with the best, providing you know where to go. A few moments off Las Ramblas will bring you to the beautiful Placa Reial. The nightclub spot, you can be sure to find live music to suit any taste here and some of the best restaurants in the city.

Visit the Market

Mercat de la Barcelona is a must for any visitor, or local for that matter. The city’s inhabitants congregate here to socialise and infuse it with an atmosphere unique to Barcelona (you’ll understand when you get here). This is the spot to sample the fish, a local delicacy, and the produce the market is most famous for. 10871214534_e4c69e8ebb_z.jpg

Walk in The Park

The Parc de la Ciutadella is one of the most beautiful places in the entire city. It’s amazing how much quieter this mediterranean retreat is from the rest of the city. No trip to Barcelona would be complete without spending a few hours relaxing under the palm trees and rowing on the lake.
