Although quarantine has completely changed the whole idea of going out to eat for most of us, it’s still nice to get out on the town at least once in a while!  Not to mention, the feeling of the fresh ocean breeze on your face while enjoying a delicious meal with a friend is the ideal way to escape all of the current election drama. No matter where you reside in LA, or even if you’re a tourist yourself, Santa Monica is a perfect stay/vacation destination and enjoying the large patio and open-air dining at The Independence is the perfect way to supplement a day at the beach or to just kick back and enjoy some cocktails.

If gourmet burgers, wings, fun apps and bottomless brunch is your jam, you’ll love this place! I stopped by with my pal Adrien and we enjoyed the 5 Cheese Mac & Cheese, a super refreshing Classic Caesar, and of course, Hand-Cut Truffled Parmesan Fries… and lest we forget the Espresso martinis to start. We also indulged in the Coldwater, a delicious mix of Vodka, Cucumber, Mint & Soda (I had mine with Tequila). This fabulous cocktail is only $7 during Happy Hour! All of the food was so fresh and full of flavor but also had the “hit the spot” kind of feel that you can only get at a legit Tavern.

If you’re not vegetarian like I am, The Independence offers more Upscale American Cuisine like the Shrimp Po’Boy, Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich, Grilled Branzino, and even a Wagyu Ribeye Steak.

Also, as of November 1st, the Independence in Santa Monica is updating their menu with special winter dishes and cocktails, so be sure to check the menu online so you can stay full, buzzed, and cozy all season long!

Cheers and a special thanks to our friends at The Independence for having us!  So what do you say, see you at happy hour?
