Did you make it out to the LA Art Show this week? It was definitely the place to see, and to be seen! Everyone from the Lakers to Barbie and Jackie O were there. 🙂 In case you missed it, don’t worry! Keep scrolling down for a photo blog dedicated to the amazing talents of the City of Angeles.
The LA Convention Center was noticeably abuzz with color and chock full of imagination. Even standing outside one could feel the energy; art definitely does something to people. If the endless displays of creativity weren’t enough to tickle your fancy, watching your fellow humans engrossed in the expressions of others was enough to fill your heart with a burst of artsy joy that took you to another planet. But then again, some would argue that LA is another planet 🙂
One of my personal favorites, Desire Obtain Cherish, took the front and center stage with bright colored flowers and fashion accessories.
Light boxes were trending…
And of course there were plenty of emojis. People just can’t seem to get enough of that s*it. 😉
The female form was a popular subject for many artists.
The Galerie Rauchfeld showcased some interesting 3D metallic sculptures.
And who doesn’t love these cutsie big eyed renditions of Disney characters?
I absolutely adored these mixed media pieces by Michael Kalish.
Not to mention this gorgeous free spirit featured in the Blue Rain Gallery.
This painting was so “LA” to me, if you look closely, you can even see the souls painted into the clouds. It has West Coast pride written all over it!
My absolute favorite discovery was the burlap art by Loretta Tearney Warner. Her attention to detail was beyond exquisite, and what an amazing and unconventional choice of medium!
I fell in love with these hand crafted paper bowls. The artist encourages you to touch them so you can get the full experience of her craft.
Can you believe these amazing pieces are made out of the rims of glasses?
One of the best parts of the day was walking outside and being greeted by colorful street art.
