The Fourth of July is probably one of my favorite summer holidays – what’s not to love about BBQ, fireworks and the extra few days we all get off work?! I’m lucky enough to be spending this 4th of July holiday in Nashville! The day is set to be full of festivities, including a visit to the one and only Nashville Hot Chicken Festival (seriously), plenty of live music, fireworks on the lake, and some good old fashioned cocktails! Cheers to the Fourth of July!

In my opinion, when it comes to dressing for the 4th of July, the first rule to consider is not to wear white – just think of all the BBQ you’ll be eating that will with out a doubt end up all over your dress! I opted for a dark skirt with some festive stars printed on it that I picked up a few weeks ago at a boutique in New York. This skirt was the foundation of my wardrobe (due to the stars of course!) and I paired with a flirty low cut top and some silver accent jewelry and shoes.
