Ever since Galliano’s dramatic dismissal from the house of Christian Dior, fashion fans worldwide have wondered what would ever become of the beloved label.  Finally, after the latest unveiling of the new Dior SS 2013 collection at Paris Fashion Week, the brand has a direction.

Designer Raf Simmons took what was once extravagant and embellished and translated it into something easier, even minimal.  Although at TGIFguide we’re huge fans of Galliano and his work, we always couldn’t help but wonder “who wears these clothes?” as voluminous, almost too-good-to-be-true gowns would waltz down the runway.  Sticking to what makes Dior “Dior,” Simmons took the brand’s classic aesthetic and reshaped it into something much more approachable. In other words, the royal princess that was once Dior finally came down from her castle and got a job in the city.

After a couture show we weren’t so crazy about, we’re happy to see our favorite label on track to staying as great as it always has been. Here are some of our favorite looks from the show!
