And for us, that place is Franklin & Company Local Tavern.
While casually walking down one of the East Side’s go-to streets for satisfaction in food and beverage form, Franklin Avenue, you’ll find Franklin & Co nestled right in the mix of Birds, La Poubelle, and The Bourgeois Pig. This little strip has been a staple in the lives of most of the local Franklin Village folk, and believe us, once you try the “elevated American fare” served at Franklin & Co, you’ll want to come back meal after delicious meal.
We’re talking Duckfat Fries with Black Cherry Ketchup, Truffled Lobster Mac N Cheese, Brussels Sprouts Salad, and Lobster Rolls. The ingredients sound exquisite because they really are, this isn’t your run of the mill burger here, although you might be surprised with the quality of the food given the prices. Our favorite is hands-down the Pulled Bourbon Chicken featuring mesquite smoked, and sharp cheddar only $9.00.
For some of us ladies, the term “tavern” might be a little off-putting in that it induces visuals of a bunch of brutes sitting around drinking beer, but this is definitely not the case at Franklin & Co! The lofty ceiling and dark wood create a luxurious ambience that’s as comfortable as your own home. Yes, luxury and comfort do go together! And while there ARE plenty of beers on tap, you’ll find a great mix of neighborhood locals, no brutes here! It’s the perfect place for a lunch during the work week or for an evening cocktail and dinner.
