There’s nothing that perfectly compliments a tasty meal quite like a delicious glass of wine. It was a pleasure exploring the tastes of Santorini Volcanic Terroir this week at the always trendy Republique on La Brea.

Santorini was born out of one of the largest volcanic eruptions in recorded history. This has given the island two of its most distinguishable characteristics–breathtaking landscape and unique volcanic soil which make Santorini both a gorgeous island and a paradise for food lovers. When it comes to winemaking in this region, the vines stay close to the ground and form a spiral, a natural basket that hosts the grapes and protects them from the strong wind, resulting in some bright and distinctive flavors.

Even Forbes knows that volcanic wine has been a “thing” for a while now, so it was very special to be able to take part in tasting some of the best wines that Santorini has to offer. At the tasting event, we enjoyed light bites inspired Santorini paired with the crisp and elegant wines. Find more information at www.santorinivolcanicterroir.eu, and be sure to follow on Facebook & Instagram: @SantoriniVolcanicTerroir
