Africa is a continent that is steeped in natural wonders and beauty. However, it’s also a place that very few people turn into a holiday destination—and it’s a missed opportunity. Africa has some of the world’s most beautiful lakes, beaches and even mountains. It’s a continent that has some hidden holiday locations that shouldn’t be missed, and those adventures absolutely deserve a spot on anyone’s bucket list. So if you’re running out of destinations to explore and want something more from your travels, here are a couple of destinations in Africa that you simply have to try.

Victoria Falls, Zambia.     This majestic waterfall has to be seen to be believed. It’s one of the world’s largest waterfalls with a width of 1.7km and a height of around 108 meters. Sightseeing tours are very common and you can get some spectacular pictures here with the right conditions and a good camera. There are walking tours, helicopter tours and even rafting adventures to be had at Victoria Falls. There are also plenty of cruises that offer accommodation as well as fine dining that start from Victoria Falls, making this destination a unique one for not just its beauty, but also for its amenities that make it suitable for the whole family.

Mount Kilimanjaro, Tanzania.    Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest mountain in Africa which can be seen from miles away. There’s nothing quite like this behemoth of a mountain on earth and it’s one of the world’s most incredible climbing challenges. There are plenty of tour guides and you can find more information about this famous mountain at http://www.kenyatraveltips.com/mount-kilimanjaro. If you plan to scale the mountain, then it might be worth practising on smaller mountains or training yourself to be able to walk great distances. Pyramids of Giza, Egypt.     This is one of the most iconic scenes in the whole of Africa. There are few places in the world that are immediately recognisable like the Pyramids of Giza, and travellers have come from all across the world just to marvel at the ancient building. The Pyramids are steeped in history that can be found at https://discoveringegypt.com/pyramids-temples-of-egypt/pyramids-of-giza/ if you want a little more background information. The pyramids are the leading reason why many travellers even come to Africa in the first place. There are numerous guided tours and plenty of sights to see. While there are plenty of last-minute options for adventures at the pyramids, it’s best to plan in advance to avoid the tourist traps and scam artists that want to steal your money.

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Uganda.   At an altitude between 2,227m and 4,127m, the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park sits comfortably among the clouds. It’s a sanctuary that was created to preserve rare gorillas, and it’s one of the must-see destinations if you’re planning a trip to the continent of Africa. There is amazing scenery all throughout the national park, there are many relaxing activities such as hiking, monkey tracking and caving. It’s also fairly straightforward and easy to tickets to enter, but it’s a little difficult to navigate during the rainy season.
